Silver Creek Senior Center offers programs and services to meet the needs of the local community.
We help them and their families by providing programs, information and resources to assist in their journey. We also help by raising awareness through public outreach and media.
Senior Food Box Distribution
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) food box is a monthly package of nutritious, nonperishable USDA foods designed for low-income seniors aged 60 and older. These ~30-pound boxes supplement diets with staples like canned fruits, vegetables, proteins, dairy, and grains to improve health and reduce food insecurity.
Each box has an approximate value of $50, helping seniors save on grocery costs. This program is operated through United Food Bank and the USDA. These boxes are not intended to provide a complete diet but are tailored to fill nutritional gaps common in older adults.
This event is once a month. Those 60 and older qualify for a senior box. The Senior Food Box is distributed the first Wednesday of the month and the following two days. Once you have applied please remember that you must bring the yellow card you were issued to pick up your box. Thank you.
